Cleveland Browns

Coleman and Britt sent home last week

As if the Browns season couldn’t get more dysfunctional or controversial (every season since 1999 feels this way), more trouble coming from the organization has been revealed.

Wide receivers Corey Coleman and Kenny Britt were sent home before last week’s away game against the Houston Texans and fined for “conduction detrimental to the team”.

Mike Garafolo was the first to report it on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football early Saturday afternoon.

Coleman and Britt reportedly missed curfew last Saturday night and while both weren’t expected to play, were told to go back to Cleveland.

Britt was dealing with a knee and groin injury while Coleman is still recovering from a broken hand he suffered Week 2 against Baltimore.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported that Britt is reportedly on thin ice with the organization after this latest incident and if he doesn’t get things together, he’ll be cut by the Browns.

He’s been a major disappointment so far since signing a 4 year, $32.5 million dollar contract in March.

Britt has appeared in four games, he has 8 catches (23 targets) for 121 yards and one touchdown.

He’s consistently dropped passes and then has been disrespectful to the media and has been seen posting videos on social media partying despite his struggles on the field.

I know it’s not a major incident but it’s not good for the organization to have to deal with these type of situations when they’re already 0-6 this season and rumors are swirling about changes coming to the organization at the end of the season.

Britt as a veteran should know better after nine years in the league that there’s a curfew set by the NFL teams and should follow that time. He is expected to play on Sunday against his former team, the Titans.

Coleman is injured and doesn’t even have to be with the team right now but is still traveling with them to away games and with his history of potential legal troubles that he should be staying on the straight and narrow to show the Browns he can be held reliable.
