It was only a week but it’s time for change again.
The Cleveland Browns have named DeShone Kizer starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
The Kevin Hogan experiment didn’t work out for head coach Hue Jackson after the 33-17 beatdown by the Houston Texans.
Hogan finished 20-37 for 140 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
So it’s back to DeShone Kizer who struggled through his first five games before being benched in the second half of the game against the Jets ten days ago.
In five starts, he’s 81-159 (50.9%) for 851 yards, three touchdowns and nine interceptions (league high). He’s also added 126 yards rushing with two rushing touchdowns.
You would hope that he did learn something during his time on the sidelines but I’d like to think he needed more time on the bench. His accuracy and vision are his biggest weaknesses at this point
As for Kevin Hogan, he’s been demoted to third string at least for this week while he’s dealing with a rib injury. Cody Kessler will be the backup quarterback.
It’s not like it’ll matter who the quarterback is at this point because it’s a bad football team at this point and I don’t think anyone at this point during this season can help the Browns at the sport’s most important position.
